The benefits of battery operated candles

Information/FAQ

August 20, 2008

People have been using candles as a light source, for ceremonial decoration, and other purposes since around 3000 B.C. All candles consisted of some sort of solid fuel source and a simple wick. Although the materials used for the fuel source or candle itself have changed, the basic technology is the same as it was in 3000 B.C. The candle has stood the test of time and the is no reason to expect that it will be replaced by any new technologies any time soon. However, there are some advantages offered by battery operated candles that make them more attractive than traditional candles for some applications.

Hanging Christmas lights with the pros

Information/FAQ

August 18, 2008

I had a good friend growing up whose father always decorating his entryway and some of the trees and greener around the entryway.  He did this ever year while we were growing up.  It always looked ok, but he seemed to struggle with the installation each year.  This went on for several years until we were high school age which was the last year he hung Christmas lights.  His final installation consisted of him opening the front door, plugging in the lights, and tossing the lights over the closest bush.  He shut the door, returned to the couch to watch football and never hung Christmas lights again.  Perhaps if he had had some professional advise about hanging his lights the exercise would have been more of a pleasure rather than a hassle.  Brian of Holiday Light Express, a professional Christmas light installation company, was kind enough to agree to an interview and answer some common questions about hanging Christmas lights.
