Program participants could send their old incandescent string lights to HolidayLEDs.com for recycling and receive a coupon for 15% off energy efficient LED Christmas lights.

Hamtramck, Mich—After going without a holiday lighting display for more than 15 years the City of Hamtramck will be a little brighter this holiday season. Thanks to the efforts of the City of Hamtramck Downtown Development Authority and HolidayLEDs.com a Michigan-based company, the City of Hamtramck will decorate more than 40 trees in the downtown with more than 18,500 LED Christmas lights.

HolidayLEDs.com, the leading retailer of energy-efficient LED Christmas lights announced today that it will launch a fund raising program for schools, churches, sports clubs, youth groups and other non-profit organizations. The fund raising program offers non-profit organizations the opportunity to earn up to 40% for their cause while selling an environmentally friendly product.

The Potter Zoo in Lansing, Mich. plans to replace thousands of Christmas lights in its “Wonderland of Lights” display with LED lights, which consume less electricity than incandescent lights.

The energy savings, costs savings and safety of LED Christmas lights are wonderful, but one of the coolest things about Christmas LED lights is that they can do so much more than traditional Christmas lights. One of my favorite new products is the morphing LED light set. This light set is a set of wide angle LEDs with warm white bulbs that are mixed in with morphing bulbs that change from red, to blue, to green, to yellow, to pink.

Since we began this business we have learned a lot about the tradition of Christmas and more than most people want to know about Christmas lights. For some reason I always assumed that the "x" in Xmas was an abbreviation for or represented the cross. I'm not sure what prompted me to investigate the matter further today but I decided I needed confirm my suspicions.
