UL or Underwriter's Laboratory is an independent product certification organization, which creates standards and tests electrical and other products, for many U.S. and foreign manufacturers. UL has become the industry standard for safety certification of electronic devices in the U.S. This certification is not a legal requirement, but most reputable companies who manufacture or sell electronic devices, seek the UL certification.

Purple LED Christmas Lights have become very popular in the last several years. We receive several inquiries each and every month wanting to know which Purple LED Christmas light bulb is the “truest” purple. There has been much discussion, between employees and customers over this very question, and a conclusion is still being debated over. This is because everyone’s definition of what a “true purple” is, is different.

The energy savings, costs savings, and safety of LED Christmas lights are wonderful, but one of the coolest things about Christmas LED lights, is that they can do so much more than traditional incandescent Christmas lights. One of my favorite new products is the morphing LED light set. This light set consist of 5MM wide angle LEDs that are mostly warm white bulbs - but here’s what makes them so cool – Every 5th bulb morphs!

It is interesting to watch the progression and changes that a new product undergoes. LED Christmas lights are no exception. When LED Christmas lights first became widely available, most sets featured replaceable bulbs. However higher quality, 1-piece construction sets, soon became available.

There are a variety of different styles of Christmas lights. One of the most common speciality styles of Christmas lights is the icicle light. The icicle light is a great decorating tool, and can be utilized to provide fantastic affects, to a number of different holiday displays.

Decorating with lights for Christmas, has expanded far beyond the family Christmas tree in the living room. The displays range from the truly sloppy and tacky, to absolute beautiful works of art. It is really a lot of fun to pack the family in the car, and drive around your community to look at the holiday displays...the good, the bad, and the ugly.
