Tips for using and installing rope light

Information/FAQ

February 9, 2008

There aren't many lighting products on the market that are as flexible as rope light. The interesting thing is not the many common uses that we've seen but the variety of new ideas our customers come up with for the rope light. In many cases, it is a great low cost alternative to expensive lighting fixtures that may require professional installation. Although not entirely novel, the latest use that I have heard about is bookshelf lighting. The rope light can easily be tucked away in the back of the shelve so that only the light is visible. This shouldn't be too hard to install and I think the under-cabinet installation instructions cited below would be fine.

I did a little searching for useful articles on rope light uses and installation and found some good stuff. HGTV.com posted an article about using rope lighting as accent lighting. HGTV.com also did a great article about with step-by-step instructions for installing rope light under a cabinet.
