I'd been waiting to switch to
I'd been waiting to switch to LED Xmas lights until it was easier to swap out the 'bulbs' to make custom color combinations. These light strands by Color-Rite were worth the wait. Although pricey (at least compared to regular LED light strings), the colors are rich and shiny. And they don't get hot -- ever. Seems like a good investment over the long haul.
To swap out the individual light bases, I recommend using needlenose pliers rather than wiggling them out with your fingers. Although these LEDs are less erratic than standard lights, the connections are just as temperamental. Take care and handle them delicately.
